Commissioning Engineer (Lead)

Based in Tuas and reporting to the Shipyard Manager, you shall be responsible for leading a team in the commissioning of high-speed aluminium vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of vessel commissioning.
  • Ensure that pre-commissioning checks are complete.
  • Coordinate with other shipyard trades and vendors’ service engineers to ensure that ship systems are properly commissioned.
  • Track testing progress, highlight issues and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare commissioning analysis and reports.
  • Improve existing SOP’s for commissioning.
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure efficiency in commissioning and constantly seek process improvement.

Basic Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least five years’ experience in a similar capacity in the marine and offshore industry, and possess at least a Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of test protocol requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Good communication skills, confident in spoken and written English.
  • Meticulous and able to work with all level of staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Project.


  • 5.5 days work week
  • Two-way company transport provided to and from Boon Lay / Lakeside
