Design & Engineering Manager (Marine)

Based in our Tuas shipyard, you shall lead a team of design and engineering professionals to provide engineering solutions and support on the design, construction, conversion and commissioning of specialised aluminium high-speed workboats. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and engineering team to perform basic and detail design. Provide technical guidance to the team for innovations and ongoing product development. Support commercial to evaluate technical specifications during tender phase. Attending test and trials, and assisting in data evaluation, fault finding, failures analysis, etc. Developing shipyard design standards. Evaluating vendor proposals to ensure that the technical scopes of service/supply and the delivery schedules meet project requirements. Working with QA/QC to define acceptance criteria for inspection, test and trials to ensure that vessels meet owners' standards and specifications. Assisting in the development of on-board marine systems operation manuals. Basic Requirements: At least 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity and possess at least a Degree in Naval Architecture. Good hands-on working knowledge of onboard systems, class rules and international regulations. Working knowledge of design and 3D ship modelling software. Good communication skills, confident in spoken and written English. Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office programs including MS Project, AutoCad and ShipConstructor. Mechanical Engineer (Lead)

Based in our Tuas shipyard and reporting to the Mechanical Manager, you shall be responsible for leading a team of mechanics in shipbuilding and repair projects for high speed vessels. Key Responsibilities: Work with the shipyard team and contractors on mechanical related works to ensure that works are carried out on time and within specifications. Manage manpower deployment and resources allocation for multiple projects. Ensure that the team adhere to all safety and quality procedures and guidelines. Plan and raise mechanical related requisitions for management approval. Oversee machinery and engine troubleshooting and maintenance / overhauling works as and when necessary. Assist in work progress reporting. Basic Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Safety certificate for Ship Repair Manager will be advantageous but not a must. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity. Effective communication skills in written and spoken English. A team player who is organised and possesses leadership skills. Proficient in relevant Microsoft Office programs.
