Penguin specialises in the design, construction, operation, repair and refit of high-speed aluminium vessels, including:

Our strategically located shipyards in Singapore and Batam, Indonesia – just 45 minutes from Singapore – are professionally managed and purpose-built for the rapid construction of high-performance aluminium craft.

Our facilities include large fabrication workshops with dual overhead cranes (averaging 50m x 50m x 25m), fully concreted grounds and marine travelifts (250-700 MT). Over in Singapore, our shipyard is powered primarily by solar energy and features a new 299-man waterfront dormitory.

Backed by modern infrastructure, an experienced workforce and a strong balance sheet, Penguin delivers aluminium newbuilds competitively and rapidly. Our standardised 40m and 42m FLEX crewboats, for example, are completed within just nine months from keel laying to commissioning, compared to the typical 12 to 14 months required by other shipyards.

Since 1996, Penguin has delivered close to 400 aluminium commercial vessels to ship owners in more than 20 countries. These include our flagship FLEX-40 and FLEX-42 multi-role crewboats, as well as our FLEX FIGHTER series of armoured security vessels.

Today, Penguin is the world’s largest builder of IMO-registered aluminium commercial vessels — including oil and gas crewboats and security vessels — according to S&P Global Sea-web.

Our FLEX crewboats and FLEX FIGHTER security vessels are jointly developed by Penguin’s integrated in-house shipbuilding and ship management teams, drawing on more than four decades of operational experience.

In addition to owner-specific build-to-order projects, refits and maintenance programmes, Penguin operates a self-funded build-for-stock programme for selected designs, in anticipation of our customers’ requirements. These include our FLEX oil and gas crewboats, security vessels, passenger ferries and CTVs.
