Spread over 43,000 square metres, PT Kim Seah Shipyard Indonesia in Batam, Indonesia – just 45 minutes from Singapore – is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Penguin Group, offering the same scope and quality of aluminium shipbuilding and repair services as our Singapore shipyard. Past projects include:

- Armoured security vessels for owners in Africa and Australia
- Offshore wind Crew Transfer Vessels for owners in Europe and Asia
- Patrol boats for owners in Singapore and Australia
- Passenger ferries for owners in Singapore, India, Africa, Europe and Australia
- Fully electric and hybrid-electric vessels for owners in Singapore and Europe
PTKS is professionally managed and well-equipped, with:
- Two marine travelifts, 250 tons and 700 tons
- Six purpose-built fabrication workshops with dual overhead cranes, including a 100-metre workshop for large RoPax and ferry projects
- Up to 2,500 personnel deployed across more than 20 shipbuilding projects concurrently
Our 700-ton Cimolai marine travelift, one of the largest in Southeast Asia, can handle vessels that are up to 70m long and 19m wide.
With a large homogenous workforce that is experienced, disciplined and dynamic, PTKS is capable of undertaking multiple complex newbuilding and conversion projects concurrently.
PTKS also serves as Penguin’s primary production hub for our internally funded serial production programme featuring our FLEX oil and gas crewboats, security vessels, passenger ferries and CTVs.
To meet growing demand, in early 2026, Penguin acquired PTLA and its estimated 140,000 square metres of waterfront land close to PTKS. By mid-2027, PTLA will be developed into a standalone aluminium shipbuilding complex to complement our main PTKS production hub.
